Monthly Wrap-Up: April 2013

March wasn't a friendly month for me, but April! I daresay that April is better. ^__^ I reviewed six books this month and although I felt like I could have done better, I told myself that I'm on the right track. So without further ado, here are the books I've reviewed this April:

My love for those books are pretty much obvious, seeing I gave them high ratings. And I'm glad I've read some good books this April, even though there are only six of them.

There are also 2 ongoing INTERNATIONAL giveaways right now on the blog, so be sure to enter. :)

Aside from good books, another good thing worth mentioning is my first month doing RAK. I've gifted Lisa @ speciallisa's books and stitching page a paperback of Delirium by Lauren Oliver. April is Lisa's birthday month so I specifically picked her to be my RAK recipient. I hope you enjoy Delirium, Lisa! ^__^
Delirium
I didn't receive any RAK book/goodie this month but hey, there's always a next time, right? And I always feel so much better giving than receiving. :)

What about you, lovelies? How did your April go?

Discover what really happened in the final days of the doomed planet from the eyes of Sandor—who would go on to become the reluctant CĂȘpan to Number Nine.

Before Number Four and the others arrived on Earth, they lived on the planet Lorien. A planet filled with others who also had extraordinary abilities. A peaceful planet––until the day the Mogadorians attacked, and nearly annihilated, the Loric people.

Only a handful of Loric survived the battle. This is Sandor’s story.

Sandor was tired of being a teenager, tired of going to school and obeying his teachers and playing by his parents' rules. He enjoyed breaking the rules rather than following them. But when he makes one mistake too many, Sandor's life takes an unexpected turn, and he is forced to join the Lorien Defense Academy.

Sandor had never believed in the crazy idea that Lorien needed to defend itself—Lorien was a peaceful planet, with no apparent enemies. But when Mogadorians suddenly attack, Sandor learns how real that threat was. Now Sandor is one of only a handful of Loric left alive, and the fate of Lorien is in their hands.

{REVIEW} Wait For You by J. Lynn

Wait For You

Author: J. Lynn (Jennifer L Armentrout)
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Published: February 26th 2013; self-published
Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

{REVIEW} Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Catching Fire

Author:  Suzanne Collins
Genre: YA Dystopia, Science-Fiction
Series: The Hunger Games #2
Published: September 1st 2009 by Scholastic Press
Sparks are igniting, flames are spreading and the Capitol wants revenge.

Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol - a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create.

Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

In Catching Fire, the second novel of the Hunger Games trilogy, Suzanne Collins continues the story of Katniss Everdeen, testing her more than ever before...and surprising readers at every turn.
