WAITING ON WEDNESDAY [#6]

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm waiting on:

Insomnia
Author: J.R. Johansson
Series: Book 1, The Night Walkers
Release Date: June 8, 2013
Publisher: Flux
Reading Level: Young Adult
Genre: Mystery/Thriller, Fantasy, Paranormal

It’s been four years since I slept, and I suspect it is killing me.

Instead of sleeping, Parker Chipp enters the dream of the last person he’s had eye contact with. He spends his nights crushed by other people’s fear and pain, by their disturbing secrets—and Parker can never have dreams of his own. The severe exhaustion is crippling him. If nothing changes, Parker could soon be facing psychosis and even death.

Then he meets Mia. Her dreams, calm and beautifully uncomplicated, allow him blissful rest that is utterly addictive. Parker starts going to bizarre lengths to catch Mia’s eye every day. Everyone at school thinks he’s gone over the edge, even his best friend. And when Mia is threatened by a true stalker, everyone thinks it’s Parker.

Suffering blackouts, Parker begins to wonder if he is turning into someone dangerous. What if the monster stalking Mia is him after all?

Ooh, I love the thriller genre! And the cover's kinda creepy! Really interesting. But it was the title that actually caught my attention. You see, I have trouble sleeping at night (hence the title of this blog) so I'm really curious about this book.

I wonder what books are YOU waiting on. Leave some comments and links to your WoW and we'll gush together! ^_^ Happy Wednesday!

Julie @ Books and Insomnia

Julie is a Filipina blogger who pretends she has insomnia so she can stay up late reading. When she's not buried in books, she can be found watching anime, drinking chocolate-flavored instant coffee, lurking on the internet, daydreaming and talking about herself in third person. 1. This sure sounds like an interesting book! I suffer from insomnia as well. Maybe books cause my insomnia? I don't know, I'm just a night owl and don't like mornings. Your blog is really cute! I found you on Book Blogs and I am now your newest follower! I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday and that you'll stop by for a visit sometime when you get the chance. :)
